Sami waited until she was sure that Lucas had left the apartment before she snuck over to implement the first phase of the plan she and EJ has set into motion last night.

 She stood in the doorway with her hands on her hips and a grin of satisfaction on her face, “There. That should do it.” She clicked the lock and made her way back to EJ’s apartment. He was fixing bottles for the twins when she came in, “How did it go darling?” She smiled in that mischievous way she always did while scheming, “Everything is perfect. It’s all set. We just have to get past our visit with the social worker. Did you take care of everything here?”

He tested the bottle on his wrist and started to make his way over to the bassinet to fetch a very unhappy Gianni, “We should pass the visit with flying colors, darling. Don’t worry,” He picked up Gianni and began to feed him. The baby drank hungrily, “You were starving weren’t you little man, God you are so cute. Daddy loves you.” As if on cue Ali began to fuss, “Oh we can’t ignore the princess now can we?” he cooed. He motioned for Sami to take Gianni and he picked up Ali and began to feed her, “Here you go sweetheart.” he rubbed his thumb through her hair, “See you have daddy wrapped around your finger already don’t you?”

Sami watched their interaction and a dread began to wash over her. “EJ I can’t let him separate me from her. The twins need to be raised together.” He looked at her with empathy, “Samantha, I will never let that happen. You have my word.” She bounced Gianni in her arms, “I’m trusting you with this EJ. Our lives are in your hands.”

They had just placed the twins in the nursery for their nap when the doorbell rang. EJ answered it and was greeted by a very pretty brunette that informed him that she was Savannah O’Brien from CPS. “Nice to meet you Ms O’Brien, do come in.” He moved his wheelchair out of the way to allow her to pass. Samantha entered from the nursery. “Darling, this is Ms. O’Brien from CPS. Ms. O’Brien, this is my wife, Samantha.” Sami extended her hand out, “It’s a pleasure.”

Savannah sat down on the couch and they exchanged a few more pleasantries. She assured them that the visit would be brief especially in light that the twins were sleeping. She did a thorough inspection of the apartment and seemed generally pleased with what she found. They noticed that she took several notes on the legal pad she brought. She returned to the living room and smiled, “Well Mr and Mrs Dimera, everything seems to be in order. I will write up my report and you should hear from my office soon.” She shook both of their hands, “The twins are beautiful.” She turned to leave and Sami stopped her.

“Excuse me Ms. O’Brien but could you tell me when you are going to visit with my ex-husband?” She gave her a look as if to say that she really couldn’t disclose that information. “Well, I shouldn’t be telling you this but, I’m heading there right now”

Sami nodded, “Thank you. I appreciate you telling me. My husband and I look forward to hearing from you soon.” With that, the social worker left. Sami turned to EJ, “Let the games begin.”
